Coaches Corner

In this blog I will be taking an in depth review over some great defenseman.
1. Shea Weber ( Nashville Predators) When the Predators need a momentum boost Shea Weber will be there to get his team pumped up. Whether it his 108 mph shot, or his heavy hit, Weber can do anything to get his team pumped up. Him, and his defensive partner Roman Josi are the reason why Nashville is such a good defensive team. In his defensive zone he plays his position really well, and hits very hard. Every year he is in the running for best defensman award. In the offensive zone Weber applies pressure, and gets clutch goals. In conclusion, Shea Weber is one of the great defensman of the league.
2. Drew Doughty(La Kings)I love Drew Doughty. Every time he scores a goal in LA you think the fans are saying booo. But the thing is they are actually saying  Drew. Drew Doughty is not one of those defensman who will stay back, and only worry about defense. He is third among Kings for goals scored in his career. He may be offensive minded, but he makes great plays in his defensive zone. I noticed when the other team is pressuring him, he stays calm and makes a decent play. He is also almost always a candidate for best defenseman award.

Different Cool Lineup Scenarios

La Kings
Left Wing :Tyler Toffoli ,Center: Jeff Carter, Right Wing : Marian Gaborik
Left Wing: Tanner Pearson, Center: Anze Kopitar, Right Wing: Milan Lucic
Left Wing: Nick Shore, Center: Trevor Lewis, Right Wing: Jordan Weal
Left Wing: Kyle Clifford Center: Jordan Nolan Right Wing: Dustin Brown
  Defense: Drew Doughty, Christian Erhoff
                  Jake Muzzin Alec Martinez
                   Derek Forbort Matt Greene
                            Goalie Johnathon Quick
                            Goalie: Jhonas Enroth
This lineup that I have made by myself features a depth version of the La Kings. It does not look like other teams with their flashy players, but it rather looks like a defensive team that can get it done. Peopl may question why I put Dustin Brown on the bottom line, but I have my reasoning. He is a defensive grinder who fits in perfectly with Jordan Nolan, and Kyle Clifford. People may also question why Anze Kopitar is not on the first line either. Well it is because Carter has been producing more points than Kopitar. Thanks for reading.

Just Hockey

Ok guys I play hockey. I love to play hockey because I love the sport, and I especially love to play the game I love competitively. My favorite teams are the La Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens, and the Tampa Bay Lightning. My favorite players are Pavel Dastyuk, Anze Kopitar, Ben Bishop, Phil Kessel, Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Jack Eichel, Patrice Bergeron, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, and Corey Perry. My favorite thing about hockey is saving pucks ,it just feels so good, somewhat like you're a brick wall. My team consists of about 15 players, who are all equally talented. At the time I am writing this blog I am in Chicago playing in the Nike Bauer tournament. I have seen some Blackhawks players, some hockey legends, and the legendary Hanson brothers from the movie Slapshot. At the time I am writing this blog my team has a record of one win, and one loss in this tournament. I played one game so far and won it . I made 37 saves out of 38 shots that I faced against Carolina Hockey Club. The game was tough, fast paced, and hard to play. There were a lot of shots that I faced, and it was really tiring. When I got to the hotel I collapsed on the bed, and fell asleep. I forgot t mention the tournament I'm in is in Chicago, Illinois.

Big Impact Players

Carey Price: This goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens is big, athletic, fast, and versatile. Carey won the Vezina trophy last year for the best goalie in the NHL. He has the best save percentage, and goals against average.
Tyler Toffoli: The rookie La Kings winger has 9 pints in 10 games that the Kings have played in the season so far. He has 8 goals , and 1 assist. Toffoli has the potential to be a NHL allstar in a few years. This star is fast, quick, creative, and tough. Toffoli can score in the clutch part of games.
Other News: Kings beat Predators in a dramatic fashion in overtime 4-3.
Stars steam roll Sharks 5-3.
Carey Price injured for at least 1 week.
The Kings will play the Blackhawks on Monday.

Kings In Depth Review

The Los Angeles Kings are 4-3-0 to start the NHL season. Yeah that record may seem bad but the Kings are actually doing very well. They started off the season 0-3-0, and now they are on a 4 game win streak. Tyler Toffolis has 6 goals this season, and is leading the way for the Kings this season. Let's take a look at the big impact players:
Tyler Toffoli
Jeff Carter
Milan Lucic
Anze Kopitar
Jonathan Quick
Here's the thing after the Kings 3 game skid these players led the team to victory by really stepping up to the challenge, and showing what they are capable of doing. Jeff Carter is on this list because he does everything right. He plays stellar defensively, and offensively. He has the strength to get to the other teams net, and get dirty, and physical down there. After the three game skid Quick upped his game, and has allowed only three goals in those four games. And now the right things the Kings are doing.
Crashing the net
Defensive coverage
Scoring
Playing physical.
All these factors the Kings have done have helped them get on their 4 game winning streak.

Sharks and Canadiens Flawless Seaon

The San Jose Sharks have stunned the NHL lately. They are 4-1-0 with an almost whole new roster. People expected them to do very bad this season, but they are proving every opposing team wrong. Joe Pavelski, Joe Thorton, and Patrick Marleau are having very good starts. Each of them have 5 points in 5 games. Another surprise is Martin Jones. This is his first year as a full time starter, and he is silencing all the odds. He is 3rd in the league in save percentage, and first in goals against average. The Sharks are tighter, defensively, and more skilled offensively so far this year. The Montreal Canadiens are 6-0-0 to start the season. They are proving that they are the number one team in the league, guaranteed. Their goaltending, defense, offense, physicality, and speed has been great. Another great thing about the Canadiens is there depth. All players are equally skilled, and that is what makes a team very good. Their offense is unstoppable with Max Pacioretty, Brendan Gallagher, Alex Galchenyuk, and Tomas Pleckanec. I think this team will make it into the Stanley Cup Finals. Thanks for reading!!

CAHA Weekend

This weekend me and my hockey team the California Golden Bears played a 4 game tournament. It was a Caha weekend ( California Amateur Hockey Association) . We played the Riverside Wildcats, Santa Clara Blackhawks, the La Jr. Kings, and the San Jose jr. Sharks. We beat all the teams. I played each game, and I allowed 1 goal each game. The first game we played we won 4-1 against the Wildcats. I made 22 saves out of 23 shots against me. The game against Santa Clara we won 5-1, and I made 32 saves. The third game we won 8-1, and I made 12 shots. And finally against the Sharks we won 1-0, and I made 44 saves. Me and my team stayed in Hampton hotel in Vacaville, California. I was named the MVP of the weekend. There were 40 teams in Vacaville playing in there competing, and intense Caha weekend. It took 6 hours to drive there, but I think it was well worth it. Anyways we are 4-0 in Caha right now, so things are well.

Top 3 Goalies Heading Into the Season

1. Carey Price( Montreal Candiens) Price is arguably the best hockey goalie in the world. He won four trophies at the NHL awards, and he is a three time NHL allstar. What I like about him is he is big, athletic, fast, and versatile. Price had the most wins in the NHL last season with 45 wins, and he won the best goalie award last year.
2. Henrik Lundqvist( NY Rangers) Henrik Lundqvist is in competition for the best goalie in the world also. He is just as good as Carey Price , but he has way more experience. Lundqvist is bigger, and not as aggressive as Carey Price. Lundqvist is passive, and plays deep in the net. When I try to play deep in the net I always get scored on, so I am more aggressive. Anyways Lundqvist has appeared in the Stanley Cup Final, and has lost to the Kings.
3. Devan Dubnyk( Minnesota Wild) Dubnyk had 33 wins with the Minnesota Wild last year. He was a Vezina finalist, but Carey Price won the best goalie trophy. Analysts are saying Dubnyk is capable of having another good year. I am a very big Dubnyk fan. He is big, athletic, and aggressive. He lost in the second round of the playoffs last year.

My Season Improved Teams Predictions

Hi guys this will be my 2015-2016 NHL season prediction.
Most improved: Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, and La Kings. Buffalo is undergoing a new era with the signings of multiple allstar players. Jack Eichel the second pick in the 2015 draft will fit in well with this group. The center has size, speed , and skill. Another reason Buffalo will do good is because of the signings of Ryan O'Reilly, and Evander Kane. These are both experienced, and skilled players who will provide more goal scoring. Well Edmonton, it starts with one name, Connor McDavid. The first round pick in the 2015 draft has so much pressure, and expectations on him. He will play alongside Jordan Eberle, and Taylor Hall. He is said to be the greatest first round pick this century. And goaltending is said to be stronger because the Oilers aquired Cam Talbot. I think he will do very good with this team. I also think McDavid will help this team get off their losing slump. Florida has so much potential because of their young, and skilled group. I expect them to silence all odds this season. Jonathan Huberdeau, and Nick Bjugstad will lead this team to success. Another key component is their goaltender Roberto Luongo. This veteran goalie can backstop the team to victory with his saves. Los Angeles will be a team with size, depth, skill, and scoring next season. They have lost four players , but they have aquired many young, and skilled players who will fit in those lost roles. Colin Miller, and Nick Mersch have the biggest potential. Their goalie Johnny Quick will do great as usual. I expect the Kings do finish off 3rd, or in a wildcard spot.

My Hockey Blog

Well it is that time of year again, only twenty two days until hockey starts. This season will be a season like no other because of all the big impact players being traded. Below I am going to list players who will have a great season next year.
1. Phil Kessel(Pittsburgh Penguins)- Kessel who was traded from the Maple Leafs will play alongside   Sidney Crosby, who is the leagues best center. Kessel is expected to get 50 points on a line with Sidney Crosby, and David Perron. If Kessel does not succeed on that line he will play with Evgeni Malkin, and Patric Hornqvist. Kessel can score from almost anywhere on the ice.
2. Carl Hagelin(Anaheim Ducks) Hagelin was aquired from a trade with the NY Rangers. He is expected to play on the second line with Ryan Kesler, and Jakob Silverberg. In my opinion he will have a thirty goal season. His speed is a great tool in his toolbox.
3. Devan Dubnyk( Minnesota Wild) Dubnyk came in for the Wild while they were way out from a playoff birth. He got an outstanding thirty three wins, and twelve shutouts to help the Wild to the second wildcard sport. Many analysts think that Dubnyk will be even better next year.
4. Mike Green(Detroit Redwings) Green is a offensive defensman who can play the point really well. He spent the past few years with the Washington Capitals, until he was signed by the Redwings. He provides a big body, and scoring for his new team. Green is expected to play alongside Niklas Kronwall.
5. Connor McDavid( Edmonton Oilers) McDavid the first overall pick in the 2015 draft is expected to be on the NHL roster. This center has size, skill, and a scoring touch. He is said to be the greatest eighteen year old center the world has ever seen. I expect a 30 to 40 point season from this amazing rook.
